We won the Ilkeston Festival last Sunday and were so dominant both our mixed teams made it to the final and had to play each other. Apart from the final the two Derby squads played 8 games and won 7 - scoring 27 tries and conceeding only 5. See the match results in the Results section.
The coaches believed that we had a strong enough squad to put out two mixed teams with the hope that they would meet each other in the final. A great deal of credit is due to the boys for delivering on this plan on the day. Many players played more rugby in a day than they ever had before, and others played in positions they hadn't ever played before. One - Oliver G-D - scored his first ever try. All the boys deserve our congratulations - well done.
Next Sunday - 29th April - is the last day of our under 11 season. Our original opponents have withdrawn so we will be having a fun morning. Sean is also planning a parents meeting to discuss our Selection Policy for next season (more details to follow).
