After a pitch inspection this morning the club have cancelled all matches and training this weekend and until further
notice. Sorry everyone, but you'll just have to stay clean and warm.
Some of will you know we gave all the lads who attended training on Tuesday a fitness test. We
have said we will test them again in the first couple of weeks of
January to see if they have at least maintained their fitness and may be
even improved it.
We checked:
- How many press ups they could manage in 20 seconds, 15 sec rest, then press ups for 20 secs, 15 secs rest then press ups for 20 secs (3 sets: straight back, bum not in the air, head forward, no nodding, lower to upper arm being parallel to ground).
- How many 10 metre shuttle runs they could do in 20 seconds (as above for 3 sets, with 15 seconds rest between each).
- How many squats in 60 seconds - with arms stretched and lower to position where thigh is parallel with ground (smooth, controlled movement).
- How many burpees in 60 seconds (press up position to standing, with a jump if possible, back to press up position, smooth, controlled movement).
- How many sit ups in 60 seconds (someone hold feet, legs bent, arms crossed with fingers on shoulders, movement should be smooth and controlled not jerky).
We would like all the boys to do what they can with this programme over the break. The maximum would be every other day, and minimum would be 2-3 times during the fortnight off school. We would prefer them to concentrate on quality not quantity.
Apart from that they (and you) are allowed to have a nice Christmas break...
